Joe Peeler has edited many films, including Lucy Walker’s ACADEMY AWARD shortlisted HBO DOCUMENTARY short, THE LION’S MOUTH OPENS. His two most recent projects include editing multiple episodes of FLINT TOWN, a documentary series premiering on Netflix in 2018; and directing the feature-length documentary, RINA SARINA WILD BALLERINA, slated for a 2019 premiere.

Joe began his career as script assistant to legendary filmmaker Peter Bogdanovich. In 2013, he directed his first feature documentary, MULE DAYS, which won the 2013 CALIFORNIA FILM AWARD. In 2014, he directed GOOSES, a VIMEO STAFF PICKED short film based on his feature-length screenplay, GEM CITY. Since then he edited the documentary short THE LOS ANGELES RIVER, directed by Peabody Award winner Margaret Brown. Previously, he edited Brown's THE BLACK BELT for Field of Vision. He's written about film for FILMMAKER MAGAZINE, PASTE MAGAZINE and HAMMER TO NAIL, and plans to eventually write a graphic novel about his brief time in the company of Hollywood titans called "Pillow Talk with Peter Bogdanovich."
